Social Security Administration (SSA)

Changes of Address

If you moved from the United State or any other country to the Republic of Panama, you should report your new mailing address to the SSA.  Please note that the mailing address you provide should be a foreign address.   You should not provide the Social Security Administration with the Miami address provided to you by your private mail courier, since this could cause your benefits to be suspended temporarily when the SSA learns that you are living outside of the United States.

To update your address, you need to fill out a form SSA-21 (Supplement to Claim of Person outside the United States) which can be obtained and completed at the Federal Benefits Unit or at the following website: www.ssa.gov/online/ssa-21.pdf

Please bring this form, together with your passport and your naturalization certificate, if you were naturalized, to the Federal Benefits Unit. We will send this information to our Regional Office in San Jose, Costa Rica to be processed.

If you are living outside of Panama City, please contact us for special delivery instructions.
